This Information Brief is based on one of the first research efforts on the fall in rubber prices of the last five years and its implications for the Lao rubber boom beginning in the 2000s. Findings from this study are now being used as part of Forest Trends’ ongoing research and policy dialogue on the legal and de facto dimensions of land tenure in the Mekong sub-region, supported by the Mekong Regional Land Governance (MRLG) Project.
