View PublicationThe sustainable timber yield principle has been complied with. The project is not in compliance with the Act in that it is not listed in the National Forest Plan for development. A very high proportion (75%) of the forest is classified by the Office of Environment and Conservation as fragile . Sensible operational procedures have not been complied with in that the resource data did not include field inventory of Block 2. The estimated sustainable annual cut is sufficient to support a conventional stand-alone log export project unless fragile forest areas are excluded from harvesting. Access through Amanab Blocks 5&6 is required.
