Eszter Bodnar

Eszter serves as Acting Director of Communications and Marketing at Forest Trends. In this role, she works across communications, development, and program teams to shape and implement organizational strategy. She oversees media outreach and engagement, stakeholder communications, publication pipelines, brand stewardship, and social media, and leads participation in events and conferences. She also directs the production of Forest Trends’ annual impact reports and leads a partnership with the U.S. Forest Service to develop innovative models for cross-sector collaboration on large-scale restoration of national forests.
Eszter brings over 20 years of experience spanning strategic communications, graphic design, environmental science, and public policy. She trained as a graphic designer in her native Budapest, Hungary, and holds a second degree in environmental biology from University College London (UCL). Prior to joining Forest Trends as staff, she worked with the organization for over 14 years as a consultant. She has also held roles with Climate Focus and World Forest ID, and has supported over two dozen environmental organizations—including the World Bank, The Nature Conservancy, WRI, WWF, and VERRA—as a communications and design consultant. Eszter is based in Boulder, Colorado.
