Check below to see if your company offers to match unrestricted gifts and complete a match request online.

What is a matching gift? A matching gift is when a person donates to a non-profit organization and their employer donates an equal or greater amount to the same non-profit. A matching gift is a great way for a donor to double or even triple their contribution to help Forest Trends.

How much of my matched gift is tax-deductible? Forest Trends is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, your personal contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law. Your employer may also be able to deduct their portion of the matched gift.

What should I do if I can’t find my employer in the matching gift search? If you didn’t find your employer in the list, it is still possible that your company has a matching program, so check with your HR department to see what options are available to you.

Forest Trends is a 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID 52-02135531. A copy of our IRS Letter is available here.
