Jacques Vabre Transat aims to be world’s most sustainable yacht race

Jan 1, 2001

The Transat Jacques Vabre, a trans-Atlantic sailboat race and fair, will be the most sustainably designed event of its kind addressing the race’s impact on the environment from carbon emissions to waste reduction. All of the greenhouse gas emissions from the event have been calculated in advance and will be “offset” or mitigated through a reforestation project in Brazil, where the race ends.
